In this episode of The Mass Invasion podcast, we wrap up on all the San Diego Comic Con news, as we are joined in the studio by Kevin from Illumination Entertainment’s film “Minions”, currently in theaters.
Okay, so he really isn’t a REAL minion… they were out promoting the movie and we didn’t have it in the budget to hire one of those fake Times Square minions to come into the studio, so we had to improvise.
We chat about all the sequels coming out, including Green Lantern Corps. (2020), Ben Affleck’s “Batman” reboot, Thor #3, and X-Men Apocalypse.
We also chat about new upcoming films in the geek universe: Professor X (James McAvoy) and Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) in “Victor Frankenstein” as well as Superman (Henry Cavill) and The Lone Ranger (Armie Hammer) in the upcoming film “The Man from U.N.C.L.E.”
As for television, we talk about the upcoming Supergirl television show on CBS, the news that the character Jay Garrick will be making an appearance in season 2 of The Flash, and how the character of Constantine, although dead to the network, is still scheduled to make an appearance in the next season of Arrow.
I will discuss my dismay of the Hawkgirl character in CW’s “Legends of Tomorrow” as Kendra Saunders rather than Shyara Hol, and both Pedro and I delight over Arthur Darvill as Rip Hunter.
In animation news, we talk about DC is making “The Killing Joke” into an animated film.
We also make plans to take over next year’s San Diego Comic Con, with the help of the minions…
…who ask to be paid in BANANAS!
