SDCC2016 Marvel Cinematic Universe vs DC Extended Universe: Who Will Win?

We know San Diego comic con is when Marvel and DC holds no punches.  It’s like a visual assault on the senses, and this year felt like the fourth of July.

Earlier in the conference, we were exposed to all the helpings out of the Netflix/MCU partnerships (mentioned in our previous post), with the pièce de résistance: The Defenders teaser trailer.

Needless to say, we all went out of our minds.

Not wanting to let up the assault, Marvel gave us more news about their phase 3 films, including, Black Panther, Doctor Strange, Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (which has wrapped shooting – and the announcement of their own theme park attractions at Disney), Thor Ragnarok, and Spider Man Homecoming, with the new addition to the MCU, Ms. Marvel!

They also dropped the new Doctor Strange trailer, doubling down on their bid for Comics to Film supremacy.

The introduction of a new FX show, Legion (David Chris Haller), played by Dan Stevens of Downton Abbey fame.

Then dropping the bomb on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. fans with this teaser…  Ghost Rider is joining the cast!

Ok, breathe.

Not wanting to be outdone, DC dropped the Justice League and Wonder Woman trailers.

On top of that, we also were delivered the trailers for Flash season 3 (Flashpoint)…

Gotham Season 3 teaser with… The Green Hornet?!

Arrow Season 5 trailer

The return of Legend of Tomorrow

And let us not forget iZombie

We were surprised CW held back on Super Girl, but we suspect they’re still filming, since they port over from CBS, however they did grace us with their new super hero line-up.

With all this great content, it’s like Christmas in July!  It doesn’t matter whether the MCU or DCEU wins, in the end, we the fans will make out like bandits.

Happy watching!
